Hardwood floor help

Hii everyone, I am very happy to be part of this forum. I have some questions regarding my hardwood floors. It has been 3 years since I had polished my hardwood floors. Now I can see some scratches and damages on it. I am thinking of refinishing the floors. I heard that we should maintain our hardwood floor after every three years. Since I am not so sure about it I would like to get a lot more suggestions on this. While surfing online I came across an article http://www.rbcclean.com/blog/floorin...rdwood-floors/ and it mentions some relevant points regarding refinishing the floors. Any insight on this would be nice. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for sharing and I have carpets in almost all the rooms and hardwood floors only at the kitchen. Maintenance is a little bit difficult.
