I just got bit by a brown recluse on the foot. Do I need to call my doctor since I am pregnant? Or can I just deal with this myself? Thanks.

I got bit by one about 3 years ago (on my face!) and did not go to the doctor til a day or so later. By that time, my cheek had turned black and was very very nasty looking! I was given some creme to put on it (and I believe a shot) and it *finally* healed.
Here is a web site that I found--it is from arizona but I believe that a brown recluse is a brown recluse.
Thanks, Jen. I guess I am doing the right thing. I have it on ice.

Don't have brown recluse's in but I'm sure you treat a bite like any other, with antihistamine. I'd go to the drug store, wouldn't bother going to a doc unless you were hallucinating and/or getting a severe headache

Thanks, Genie. I am not allergic to spider bites. Steve had some topical poison remover for stings and poison ivy that I used. It is no longer stinging. From what I read on the pages Jen sent, it's just a localized poison unless it gets it really bad and i get a fever or something. I am blessed in that I am not allergic to stings and bites from insects.
