Question Approximately how long before AF returns?

Zack is 8 months old now. I'm still nursing him 6-8 times a day on average, sometimes more.

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not really wanting to have her visit any time soon... just a little curious as to how long everyone else went before AF returned..

I am no nurse but i have bf'ed 3 babies and let me just say that it all depends on you and your hormones. With both of my boys I didn't have a period for well over a year cuz they nursed till 10mo of age and then it took 3-6mo for my cycles to start again. HEAVEN!!
I was totally shocked when i had regular periods from day one with Emily! And she nursed for 19mo! So, my advice is just to enjoy it while you don't have one.
And WTG on doing such a great job nursing Zack!

In my college biology classes we learned that it has to do with the frequency of nursings, and more specifically whether or not they nurse frequently during the night.
To that I say, whatever.
I nursed Grace for 20 months and got my period at 2 months. Grant is 7 1/2 months and I don't have it yet. THANK GOD. Both of them were exclusively nursed, solids at 6 months and sleeping through the night around the same time - 2 or so months.
Don't question it, just accept it!

Thanks Krista, Thanks Joy!

Joy, seems now like I read something regarding the baby nursing every X # of hours... Zack's slept through the night since he was a little more than 3 mos old so I reckon I'm just blessed!

I was on Depo-Provera for approximately 6 years. Had my last shot in March of 2001, got my 1st period, since starting the Depo, in September 2001, and had a regular period each month until February 2002 which was 14 days late. Then in March it was about 2-1/2 - 3weeks late and I took the HPT and was PG....

Meagan is on a distinguished road
After Gavin AF showed up within 2 months even though I was breastfeeding. After Maddie it was 10 months I think?? Maybe longer. And she was also breastfed.

AF showed up 2 months after Kyler was born even though I was nursing. Actually, it worried me. I had thought that while you were nursing that wasn't suppose to happen. I actually called the dr b/cuz I was nervous. Boy - did I feel like a fool!
