Well, it just struck me that Cody's 1st birthday is just around the corner My baby really isn't going to be a baby anymore!

Anyway, I guess I should start planning his party since it will be here before I know it. I can't decide what theme to use.

With Jessi, I just went to the store and found the plates, etc, then designed the party around it. This time I'm going to plan a little better and see what's out there. I've seen the Noah's Ark theme -- it's adorable. I wonder if I could get a cake decorated up with an ark and animals?

Feel free to throw out any first birthday ideas you may have!

Yes You can My Daughter will soon be one as well and that is the theme we will be using! You can get a cake decorated like an Ark with animals on it or a flat sheet cake with the ark and the animals on it! We are using Noah's Ark for our Daughter's First Birthday Party as well! She will be one on May 23,2001 !

For my son's first birthday we had a cake made that was decorated like the ground. The top layer was smaller and off-center. There was a toy dump truck on top and it was dumping mini M&M's out and they spilled out over the lower layer. It was so cute!

Whole eggs?

Did you use whole eggs in your cakes or just egg yolks? I am concerned about allergies.

knee cole will become famous soon enough
For you moms of soon-to-be-ones: Try to save a decent sized piece and get some pictures made. Spread out a white sheet or blanket, strip the baby down to the diaper and set the child in the middle of the sheet. Place a party hat if possible on their head and then give them the cake and let them go. I had one child come into the studio and we tried everything possible to get her to make a mess. We finally just stuck her foot in and she cried!!

JennaJB -- we used whole eggs. Both of mine were already eating egg-containing products at that point, so it wasn't an issue. Also, we have no known food allergies in our families.

Knee Cole -- that sounds like a great idea! Wish I had done that!

We ended up with a fireman theme -- it was very cute!

We used whole eggs too. I must admit that I'm pretty slack about food allergies. We've not known anyone in our family with them. I do wait until about a year for feeding whole eggs like scrambled but I didn't even think about the eggs in things!!!

Cool

My little guys birthday is a few months off, but I already have planned out what theme we are going to have. Since we have a hog/cattle farm, we are going to have an EI-EI-Oink party and a hog roast. I found all these great birthday party ideas and everything that I need to decorate with at this website..ok..so it's my new business, but it does have something for everyone..
