Twins and two different birthday Theme's

Having twins and each want there own way, what do you do for birthday's when each child wants a different birthday theme?

Since they were 4 we have had two seperate bday parties, one at lunch time and one at dinner time.

They have what they want for themes as they have seperate bday parties.

We also give them a 'special day' about 6 months after their bdays which is just for one child. They pick what they want for breakfast in bed, they get gifts - only from parents and siblings and only from the $2 shop - and get to pick what we cook for dinner. It doesn't cost much but it gives them one day a year that is theirs alone.

Maree that is a neat idea. You sure do know how to make your boys feel special.

We went to a birthday party for 2 year old twins once... a girl and a boy... half the party was done in teletubbies and the other half Blues Clues. I thought it was a cute idea.
I'm not sure what I would do were I in that situation.
I have a friend who 3 of her children's birthdays are within 2 weeks of each other so she only throws one big party for them. I think I would feel a little jipped if I were one of her kids.

I would too Elaine when they are not even twins or triplets. Are they older or smaller right now?

That is a great idea Maree!!!

I don't know exactly what I would do if I had twins but I would have separate bday parties.

I would either split it up, or find something that they are both interested in. I also think having a seperate party for each kid is a good idea. It would be a drag to always have to share your birthday!

We haven't had a problem yet, the boys are 4 and they like a lot of the same things. But Maree has an excellent idea, I may have to steal it.

Brittany and Trey are 11 days apart.

Brittany usually has her Girls party with Friends.

When Trey turned 1 I had Little people cake for him and party stuff and Brittany had Powerpuff girls. Both at the same party. Last year I had a finding Nemo Cake for the both of them for the family party. Brittany had her dance party.

I dont know what will happen this year. I dont think they are jipped because they get seperate happy birthday songs sung to them. But I could see where twins might have a problem.

Go for it Dana

The boys were about 7 yrs old and it was Fathers Day and they wanted to know when it was their turn to have a special day for them, as I had told Greg when he asked, I said you have your birthday.

TK said, its not my day bc I have to share it. I felt so bad for him, bc he is right.

So 'Tony's Day' and 'Ricky's Day' came into being

This lady I knew...she had twins...boy and a girl. Their first b'day they had a barn yard theme. Each child had their own cake.

I heard her say that for their 2nd b'day...she wanted each child have a cake of something that they liked.

I think if I was in this situation...I would have one party, but 2 different themes. I also like Maree's idea.

It is terribly important to twins to have their own cakes, every adult twin I have spoken to said they really hated having to share a birthday cake so my kids have always had two.
