Thermometer Question

Does anybody know how high your temperature will rise when you ovulate when you are using the basal body thermometer. My co-worker is trying this for the first time and I told her I think it will rise 3 or 4 degrees higher than your normal temperature a couple of days before you ovulate. It will stay high if you become PG. Is all that correct? I have never used the method. Thanks for any help.

i never had the patience for the basil method... too hard to lay in bed while i had to pee so darn badly!

For me, at least, it's about 1/2 of a degree. Before ovulation, my temps are around 97.7, and after, it's about 98.2.

It was less than a degree for me too. I never found the BBT method that useful. I got pregnant right away using OPKs. They are about $10 now at Walmart which is about $2 less than they were a couple of years ago.
Good luck to your friend!
