CROUP with Nicholas I mean with her its easy enough to deal with (to a point). When she is barking take her outside or sit in the bathroom with the hot shower going......and give her cough syrup during the day oh yes and vicks at night...she hates vicks...but you know it helps when she actually asks for it since daddy forgot.....and we have the humidifier going......

With Nihcolas I can do the first 2, you can't do cough syrup with an 8 month old.....not supposed to use vicks (it can actually burn their sensitive skin) and I only have one humidifier..

I am going to see how he is later...I am hoping he has gone back to sleep....its 6:50am here...he was up at 6 I dn't know if i should take him to the walk in clinic or not...Croup, if i remember correctly is viral, there is nothing you can do for it. If its bad enough i can take him to the big H for the treatments they do (liquid steriods and breathing treatment) but its not that bad right now

I'm sorry.
I think you can give cough medicine to an 8 month old. I would call the pharmacist(sp?) and enquire, and isn't there vicks for children now?Not sure on that one?
I hope both kids get better quickly.

I would call just to see what you can give him to treat the sypmtoms. I am sure there is something he can have to make him a little more comfortable.

I think that you can give cough meds for an 8mo old too. Definitely call your Dr. Also, put the kids in the bathroom and turn on the shower for awhile and the steam will help loosen up their chests.
I hope that they get well very quickly hon!

I know that when they thought TJ had croup, they had me bring him in so they could make sure it wasn't something else. They've given me cough syrup/decongestants for the little ones, so maybe there is some help for him!

Poor baby ... hope everyone feels better soon!

Well Nicholas and I spent some time inthe bathroom this am with the shower going and its loosened his chest up a bit. Liz is still sleeping so that is a good thing. She never woke up last night....

I sooo hate this. I am going to see if i can find that vicks stuff for kids. Last time i asked about cough syrup for babies...the pharmacist about **** on me and told me you CANT do it unless the Dr tells you too (that was abotu 2 years ago with Liz). SOooo we maystill end up at the walk in clinic
