The Great High Chair Debate

Thread Starter
We are looking for a high chair for Ben and have NO IDEA which one to buy.

Right now we are looking at the Evenflo Easy Comfort.

Just wanted to know peoples opinions on this chair if they own it, or which chair do you like the best or worst?

(we really like the "T-bar" feature, and it needs to hold ALOT of weight, because Ben is already 24 lbs@6 months!)

This is one product where I really have no preference. I bought the cheap $20 kind, and it has done the job through 2 kids so far. Some of the others are really nice, but I just didn't see the need.

I don't know how much weight it is designed to hold, but it never gave way under Cody, who was 30+ pounds at a year.

I have the Graco Neat Seat for Faith, and we Love it! You can adjust the height on it, and it also reclines. Plus it has a one hand pull out tray. It cleans nicely and is durable. Hope I have helped!!

I got mine at WalMart for $30. I am not too sure of the brand name right now but it is with the Winnie the Pooh design on it. It has the T-bar and also has the removable parent tray that pops on the outside part of the tray. I love this one!!

We have the Playskool 1-2-3 chair, and I would not trade it for a big bag of gold!! It has been my favorite baby product that we own. It has 3 reclining positions - one for a newborn, one for a baby just learning to eat solids, and then the usual upright. It is sturdy, and wouldn't tip over no matter what acrobatics the kids tried to do in it. It cleans up easily, and the wide tray is made with Microban in it - a material that prohibits the growth of bacteria - we have used this chair so far for Richie and Andie - and it looks brand new! When people bring their little ones over, and put them in the chair, they exclaim over how great it is. Plus, you can adjust the height - and it goes so low, that once the baby is a toddler, they can climb in themselves - or you can push it up to the table. If you can't tell, I LOVE THIS CHAIR!!

I have a wooden highchair that my MIL got at an Amish Furniture store. It was unfinished so we had to do that ourselves. I really like it a lot. It is sturdy and will last forever. It cleans up really well too. I wouldn't trade it for a plastic chair.

Drew never used one, but I absolutely adore Ally's. It's a Graco, but not sure of the name. It has 3 reclining positions and 6 adjustable heights. The big tray has a huge general area, a cup holder on the right and 2 smaller divided areas on the left (for when they get older). It also has the T-Bar, plus a 5 point harness to strap them in (we only use it around her waist). The tray has a button in front to move it back and forth or two on the sides to move it back and forth or to take it off for cleaning. When you take the big tray off there is a "snack" tray built into it. Perfect for snacking when they get a little bigger. Also allows you to slide the chair right up to the family table. A little pricey ($100), but she'll be able to use this chair for years. Holds up to 50 or 60 pounds. The seat cover comes off for easy washing and so does the plastic liner under the cover. Both are easy to take off and put on (a big +). Definitely my choice.

My mom gave me one that she got when she was babysitting. It was a Little Tykes and is all plastic. She wanted one that she could spray cleaner on and not worry about ruining the wood. (Of course, she has a wooden one now for my nephew, so....) Anyhow. We haven't used it with Jonathan yet. But I used it babysitting before he was born and it is very sturdy. The tray is easy to get on and off, and it has a harness. I wish it had a T-bar and adjustable back, but I think it will be fine. After all, it was free.

Even though mine is wooden it is covered with a protective finish, so I am able to clean it up easily. It is on it's second kid. I wanted a chair that I could keep forever.

We have a Chicco Mamma.. it's on daughter #2, well sorta, Jordyn's not ready to give it up yet since it's really versitile, it moves up and down and reclines... she can sit at the table w/o the tray... but going to get a booster for her, sinec she thinking she's as big as her sisters and wans to sit in a regular chair.
