Meghan's 3 month checkup

Took Meghan to the doctor for 3 month checkup.
Aside from the severe excema, she is doing quite well.

She weighs in at 13lbs 9oz ( 75thpercentile)
She is 22 5/8 inches long ( 25th percentile )

She will start solids next month!!!!

A question--- Does anyone feel bad about asking for formula at the doctors office? I asked my dr and she was soooo good. She gave me quite a bit. My husband on the other hand said to me that he felt funny taking it. With it being so expensive, I will take anything free if I can get it.

Right now Meghan is on Soy formula but the Dr. said if her excema gets worse they might switch to NUTRAMIGEN which is soooo expensive.

i have a friend that uses NUTRAMIGEN and holy cow is it ever expensive!

i hope you can stay away from it

Well, I haven't ever done it because the girls were both breastfeed than... But my goodness if they want to give you some for free TAKE IT!!! All things for babies are expensive so I say take the help where you can get it...

Glad things are going well...

glad things are going well for her. I ask for formula at the dr.s too. ESPECIALLY Nutramigen. ALL of my kids have been on it so far. I even had to get a prescription from the ped to get WIC to pay for it.

I'm glad Meghan's doing well. I breastfed my dd, so I never bought formula. It is very expensive. If your ped wants to share, take it. One less thing you have to buy.

Forgot to mention that the pediatrician prescribed Elidel for her excema and gave me bunches of sample tubes. We have been greasing her up and her face looks sooooo much better. Her legs have a bit to go but look better also. So if the cream helps, maybe no formula switch is necessary. Let's hope.

I'm glad her appointment went well. Usually docs are more than willing to give out samples. The more you give out the more often the reps come in to give you more and bring you lunch- the less lunches you have to buy!!! Plus most know how expensive formula is. DS is bf but I know how expensive iit can be. We still got free formula to have on hand- if we don't use it I am going to give it to the food bank or someone they needs it.
