They should let it go. If the enemy is booby trapping bodies, there was reason for his actions.

I agree with you Lenora (
Did I just say that?
Just kidding!)
Seriously ... this same soldier was just willing to fight to the death earlier ... and they say he was 'pretending' to be dead. After watching somebody in my unit be killed by a dead soldier the day before, I wouldn't take my chances either.
As ugly as it is ... this is war. And war means death. Who's to say that soldier would have survived anyway? Personally I think the media should not be in combat with our soldiers. There are some things that are better left unphotographed. I'm afraid the media is endangering the lives of our soldiers.
And my last thought on this ... it's not as if we paraded this soldier's corpse down Main St. (don't get me started on that one) I don't really understand all the hub-bub. It's war ... somebody was shot ... somebody died.

This whole story just pi$$es me off.
All this arm-chair quarterbacking, they aren't there in the field, they aren't risking their lives, they have no idea what it's like, these poor soldiers are on no sleep, working against fighters that play by no rules. Just sickens me really.

Quote:| The shooting in the Fallujah mosque became public Monday with the airing of the footage taken Saturday by pool correspondent Kevin Sites of NBC News. In his report, Sites said the man who was killed didn't appear to be armed or threatening in any way, with no weapons visible in the mosque. |

I also agree that this should just be let go. War is war and people die.

I just worry that it's going to be used AGAINST our soldiers in other countries, and especially by those they're fighting against. I understand and agree that we need to know what our soldiers are facing every day and night, but there are some things that just don't need to be seen by anyone.

I agree, so why do our news correspondents need to help add fuel to the fire? Even if this guy felt the "responsibility" to air the footage he had filmed, why did he have to make the comment he did? By doing so, it was as if he was blaming the marine for simply protecting himself. This news guy was there and knew what was going on, so he should have chosen his words a little better.

I also find it interesting that the main people objecting to this are the same people that condone the behaviour of the insurgents. (Just check out how the Al Jezera (sp?) network is blowing this up!) These are people that will do whatever it takes to achieve their goals.... and that's OK with them. But if the US does something....
I agree.... I think the media is needlessly endangering our troops. The whole situation is sad.
And I totally agree... drop it! This is war. What did they think it was going to be.... a tea party where everyone gossips and does their nails?

The insurgents are kidnapping innocent, unarmed civilians whose only purpose in Iraq is to help these people, torturing them and brutally murdering them - often on film. I'm sorry, but who cares about this dirt bag who would align himself to a bunch of murderers? I'm more concerned about the death of the aid worker who dedicated her life to helping these people and for it she got murdered. The way I see it, if they are going to show no mercy or compassion to those who are trying to help them, then why should they receive any? I am so
about the death of that British aide worker.
