Formulas....

If you bottle-fed/feed, what formula seemed/seems to work for your little one?

My Pediatrician didn't specify, but the only thing he said was to stick to name brand formulas instead of store brands to make sure the baby gets complete nutrition.

What have you found?

Well with Rach, I used Good Start until I got her on WIC, then I had to switch to Similac. They both worked fine for her. Issac only had formula a few times and I think it was either Enfamil or Similac.

When Sarah started on formula, the only kind she would NOT vomit was Good Start.

Logan was on Similac for the first six months then i switched him to a store brand... all the ingredients were the same...for half the price

Similac here, with all three.

I used Enfamil LIPIL with Nick.

Lys started with Similac but she was always constipated so I switched to good start.

hmmm. I've never ahd a doctor tell me that the store brand didn't have the proper nutrition. With Drevi we started on Enfamil LIPIL, and then switched to Parents Choice (back then they didn't have it in Lipil) after comparing the nutrition information. Ive used Parents Choice with Brodie also. Neither of them have had problems, and its MUCH cheaper. Almost all formulas are made by the same company anyhow.

Good Start!

We used Isomil.

We avoided all dairy (including formula) for the first two years, because we had concerns about diabetes (BIL has Type 1), and early-introduction of milk products has been linked to that, I guess.

With Austin I used Good Start and then he ended up switching to Similac Soy Formula because it didn't constipate him.

Dylan was on Similac Advance for a while. But he spits that up something awful.

I use Parents Choice from Wal-Mart. It doesn't have as much iron in it, so our ped. thought it may help with the spitting up. Which it does, BUT it doesn't help with the constipation.

Also.. as for not getting enough nutrition from store brand.... can't be true. LOL no way. Dylan has been on Parents Choice for 3 months or so and he's DEFINITELY healthy. Guessing somewhere around 23 pounds.

We used the Enfamil with DHA for Carrie

rhyne used enfamil mostly, but she also used similac and store brands, she could not eat the good start, she would spit it all up

All formulas made and sold in the US are FDA regulated and must contain all the essential nutrients. They don't have to have the Lipil yet but give it time. I used Good Start with Josh(from 3 mos on) and with Jake (when he weaned from the breast at 10.5 months), Jesse only had formula on rare occasions and with him I used the sample cans from the hospital and welcome clubs, so he had a couple differant brands(I know, shame on me, but he did fine with all of them, and what is the differance because by that time he was eating and drinking a large variaty of foods). All of them were very healthy and still are.

My doctor told me not to worry about names all your buying is the name, store brands have to have the nutrition guidlines met or exceeded by federal regulations. we had a problem with spit up with all the "name brand" formulas even soy. my doc told me to try the store brand cuz sometimes the texture in certain formula. we have her on Parents Choice and we've had NO problem since we changed her.

I always used Good Start and never had any problems. Interesting that your doctor said to stay with name brands because of nutrition. If you look at store brands and name brands and go down the line, it is the exact same ingrediants and amounts.

If you decide to use Good Start, you can go on Nestles web site and I used to get this magazine that had $10 coupons in them. I think it came once a month.
