OMG---there's a Birthmother's Day!!!

This is so special to me b/c I am a birthmom. I've been thinking about my son who I placed for adoption here lately. I think that having a Birthmother's day is wonderful.

Mother's day--May 13th 2002
Birthmother's Day--May 12th 2002 (also my dh's b-day)


May Birth Mother's Day bring acknowledgement and recognition to every birth mother who ever loved a child lost to adoption. May it honor and celebrate every mother who became childless after birthing a child, and was forgotten on Mother's Day.

Actually, I know a family who adopted a little boy from Russia a fe years ago. They learned about birthmother's Day, and send a donation of either money or supplies to the village in Russia where there son was born in hopes that it will somehow impact the boy's birthmom. I know it is a day for them to reflect and be thankful to this woman who gave birth to the boy, for bringing their son into the world.
