Glittery Christmas Tree Ornaments

Materials:

~ Clear plastic or glass ornament balls
~ Craft Glue
~ Glitter, in various colors
~ Small paintbrush

Squirt a bit of glue into the ornament and use the paintbrush to coat the inside of the ornament. It will be nearly impossible to coat it entirely, so just try a streak here and a streak there.

Pour some glitter into the ornament, hold your finger over the opening, and shake, shake, shake!

When the glue dries, it should be invisible and all you will see is the glitter on the inside in neat designs and colors!

Plastic ornament balls

You know I saw something similar on this web site under I think toddler or preschool christmas decorations. But that called for plastic and the only problem is that I can't find them. Do you happen to know who sells them?

You're right -- I just changed it to glass or plastic -- that's the same basic craft. The ones I bought seemed to be a cross between the glass and plastic. I know that sounds weird, but they ended up being breakable, but they didn't shatter like glass. It broke into many pieces, but they were fairly large and easy to clean up.

The article you saw was at: http://babyuniversity.com/cgi-bin/jump.cgi?ID=680

Anyway, I bought mine last year at a craft/sewing place called JoAnne's Fabrics. I would guess you could also get them at A.C. Moore or Michaels. I've never seen them at Walmart though. Do you have any big craft stores up there?

If not, you may be able to order them -- or have them shipped in by friends or family (I'd be happy to see if I can still find them if you'd like!)

I can ask some of my crafty friends for suggestions if none of these work -- just let me know.

Yes we have a Michael's up here but they don't have plastic. We don't have a problem finding the glass ones but these are going to be for next year too when Jordan is up and moving. I will look on line and I guess pay extra for express shipping or Christmas would be over by the time that I got them.
