I could not even imagine, but I sure wouldn't anounce to the world that I chose 1 child over the other.

I think that had to have been one of the hardest decisions a mother could make.

I can't imagine myself having to choose.

I couldn't imagine having to make that choice. That's wonderful that he survived.

I don't think she announced it on her own. I think word go out because I kept hearing reference too it a few days before they did the actual interview.

I just can't imagine. What a TOUGH decision. Honestly I don't think I could have let go

I saw the interview on CNN. She had to let go, or they all would have died. By letting go of the older it increased her chances to save the smaller child.

But I keep thinking the same thing, I never ever want to be in that situation. Imagine how many other people had to make the same choice during the tsunami and the child didn't survive. I can only imagine how they feel now. What a guild must they carry around with them.

I'm not judging the mother, she was put in a horrible situation that I can't even begin to imagine.
I just feel that I wouldn't have said anything to anyone (with the exception of DH or a councilor)
This little boy now has to live the rest of his life knowing his mother chose his little brother over him.
I saw the family on the news last night and that little boy's face haunted me all night ~ I couldn't sleep.
I hope they get him lots of counciling.

Oh wow! I couldn't imagine having to make that choice.

I hope I never have to make that choice. Steve said the older boy knew how to swim and was able to save himself. He must be a really good swimmer for five. I'm glad they got a happy ending.
