Question about babyshowers

What one item did you recieve at your baby shower that you loved? At the shower I loved things like a diaper wipe warmer and NASCAR bouncy seat, but what I really ended up loving in the end was a case of huggies diapers. (Never knew how many diapers a baby uses)

What one item was of no use to you? Diaper Wipe Warmer. I thought it would be so great and it ended up really sucking!

What did you like about your decorations? I honestly don't remeber the dcorations. I think there were baloons and an arrangement of flowers.

What did you not like about the decorations? Don't remember.

What would you have done to make your shower better if you could have? Nothing. I think my shower was very nice.

i loved my baby showers... i had a few... i loved everything.

the only thing i would suggest not buying would be a diaper bag, that is kinda like a purse, it is every persons prefference

I had three baby showers and the gifts that I always treasure the most are the handmade items. Hand crocheted blankets by family members, handmade outfits or baby items that have been passed down through the family. I really love looking at the darling baby clothes too though. The most practical things I received and definitely used were diapers and wipes.

I am with the girls-hated the Diaper Genie and my wipe warmer was of no use.

My decorations were very nice-not over done.

The only thing that I didn't like at my first shower with Zachary was the stupid 'guess how big Mommy's belly is with toilet paper (can be streamers or yarn too)'. That was SO VERY EMBARRASSING! Everytime I hear of someone in our family throwing a baby shower I insist that they do NOT play that game.

What would you have done to make your shower better if you could have?
I also hate the game where you measure the belly with yarn. Most people make it too long and that's not something you want to see when you are pregnant.

i have never heard of the measure the mommies belly, but then up here , we usually have the shower after the baby is born

What one item did you recieve at your baby shower that you loved? I really liked my baby bathtub. I used it until he just couldn't fit in it anymore. And I got some adorable handmade blankets and things. But what I really used the most was wipes and Playtex bottles. Also Wal-Mart and Target gift cards. I got several small ones and combined them to get something I really wanted (an open-top swing).

What one item was of no use to you? Just one??? Well, I got a tape player that hooked onto the side of the crib. I have no idea what possessed MIL to get it. It was flimsy and didn't hook on the way it was supposed to. I was afraid it would fall off on his head or something. Also a diaper wipe warmer. I thought it was going to really warm the wipes, but it just took the chill out of them and they were cold again as soon as the air hit them.


What did you like about your decorations? I had two showers. One at church and one at work. One of our friends at church decorated the cake to match the napkins and cups she'd picked out, which was cute. But it just wasn't my taste. My shower at work didn't have any decorations. Just a really nice cake.

What did you not like about the decorations? Well, there really weren't any decorations. The one at church was a little disorganized. The invitations were Mickey Mouse. The cake and napkins were rocking horses. And everything was purple. And purple isn't exactly one of my favorite colors.

What would you have done to make your shower better if you could have? Most of the games we played at my shower were all done on paper. So, they weren't too bad. But one thing that bothered me a little was that they didn't ask me about any of my preferences. They made a punch that had pineapple juice in it. I couldn't have the pineapple, so I ended up drinking water, which kind of offended the hostess, but I couldn't have it without getting sick.

Overall, I had pretty nice showers, so I can't complain too much.
