HELP for a friend with Endometriosis!!!

I received this email from a friend of mine and she is scared. She has no insurance and has seen doctors in the past, but apparently this is VERY new. Please share any suggestions or advice you might have. ( I have already told her I hoped she had gone to the ER. ) She sent this to me this morning.

***** I'm kinda scared right now. My husband was getting up for work cause he has to be to work at 5:30. But he's not what woke me up, what woke me up was my period comin back stronger than ever. For the entire month of December and a good three weeks of January, I had my period. But when I had it in December it was so light I didn't even have to wear a pad, when I started working out in January with my mom it got heavy because of the exercise. It finaly ended, woohoo, like two weeks ago, which made me very happy to be period free. But yesterday it showed signs of starting again, and in fact, last night while I was at my parents house playing cards it started, fairly heavy again. So we finished up playing cards and came home to go to bed. I had some mild cramping just as we were going to sleep. When he got up this morning to get dressed, I was content to stay in bed and sleep, so I did until about ten minutes after he got up cause I felt wet, so I ran to the bathroom. Apparantly I had leaked through everything and when I went to the bathroom, hell I had to run, I passed a chunk the size of my fist. I'm probably really really grossing you out. ::Sigh:: I just wish this would stop, I feel like something is so wrong. As big as the things are that are coming out of me I feel like my whole utuerus is coming a part and out. As soon as I get my insurance I need to hurry up and see a doctor and find out whether or not we're gonna be able to have kids, and if I can't, I'm having a histerectomy. *****

That's what she has been told in the past (as far as I know. ) I have directed her here so I am hoping she comes here and gets some support and advice. She works nights, so if she does come it won't be until tomorrow morning.

Thank you Jessica.

Liz,
Thank you too. Hopefully she will get on here in the a.m. and read this for herself, but if not, I will relay everything you said to her. I don't know if she did get checked out. When I got online she was at work and I have lost her number.

Hi ladies. I'm the friend, I went ahead and joined after I recieved the e-mail back. Well I e-mail Shona and told her, that in about a day and half maybe two days the excessive shedding stopped completely. As for cancer, my last pap smear came back good, perfectly normal. One of the last doctors I saw when I asked about my possible condition, she gave me a blood test and said that my results were conclusive to polycystic ovaries and wanted to stick me back on the pill cause I have a normal cycle on the pill. But the same thing happened to my mom, and simple ultrasound showed that she did not have any cysts what so ever on her ovaries. I felt rather brushed off by this doctor and am awaiting when I can see a new doctor, insurance kicks in this May. I have not officially been diagnosed with Endo, but seeing as my mother has it and experienced similar problems that I am and that it is hereditary, it's not too far of a stretch. I may need a simple DNC to clean me out or an ovary resection, the cut pie shaped slits into the ovaries, like my mother had before she was able to have me. My mother thinks that my sudden heavy and QUICK shedding was that it was possible that I was pregnant and that for some reason my body decided things weren't developing right and terminated the pregnancy and flushed my system. But for whatever the reason it's over. Thank you all for caring.

THere are a few of us here with PCOS. I went the other way with my periods though. I never got them unless I took provera. Since I was able to have a second child it seemed to have gone in the other direction though. I have very heavy periods and clots now. I hope thigs improve and you can hold off till may but please if you have that happen again you need to have it checked out

Well, I am glad to hear that things are better now than they were. But I would definitely get it checked out as soon as you can. There are a couple of us here that have had various "female" problems, so we understand your concerns. Feel free to PM me if you need someone to talk to!

And Welcome to BabyU!
