Have you ever done a character cake using a pan like This?

Is it hard?

we had a stand up 3d pooh cake that we did for rhyne's b-day. it's not hard to make, but my mom had a time decorating it. Just takes time.

She makes a lot of cakes like that spider man one though.

It's not hard. The Spiderman cake would be fairly easy since it doesn't use a lot of different colors. If your kids are as ornery as mine, you might want to wait till they're in bed to decorate it. My kids constantly try to stick their fingers in my icing, etc. when I'm decorating.

the 3d Pooh cake is kinda hard to get right in the actual baking. We had to bake ours three times before it came out right.

All you need is a couple pastry bags (or ziploc bags work too) and a few icing tips. Very cheap and easy

I made an Elmo cake last Nov. for Olivia's birthday. That was the first time I ever did it. It really wasn't that hard just time consuming. Good luck!

I haven't attempted a 3-D one yet, but the shaped ones aren't bad. Not hard. It just takes time.
