Weird toys of Christmas future

There is no way that I would buy some of these things. A vampire doll? Honky Tonk Homicide? Why do children need special sensors on their shoulders to play tag? Tag is not an Army excerise. Why does any child need a replacement for chalk to draw a hopscotch grid on the ground? Part of the fun is drawing your own grid. I did think the Vapo Buster and the Kalidibug were cool though. The Jumping Skateboard kind of scared me though. I just know kids aren't going to use it more safely. Where's the fun in that? No, they're going to find ways to jump higher and do even more dangerous things with it. After all, they call it a skateboard pogo stick. Kids are kids and they are smart. Safe is not fun. If they wanted a safe toy, they wouldn't be skateboarders. That toy would give me a heart attack.

Kaleidabug sounds cool but my kids got a cheapo version of that same thing in a dollar store bug catching kit last year.

I think it is sad that kids can't even play a game of tag without needing a special device. What happened to the days of "outside" being what was fun about going outside? Now you have to have electronic skip-its, walkie talkies, and special tools to draw your chalk lines to make going outside fun.

Now for the vampire doll, since I think the living dead dolls are really cute, I think I would like those too.
