Balance Ball

I love this thing! For those that aren't familiar, the balance ball is this huge ball that you incorporate into your strength training. An example would be here

The concept is that it requires conditioning and use of your core muscles to be able to balance while using this ball. You can do abs, upper body and lower body exercises with it.

The bonus is that pretty much any exericse you do, requires use of your abs to maintain balance. So the abs really get a good workout! I have this particular ball that I linked to above ... it comes with a huge wall chart showing a good 15 - 20 beginning exercises.

I would definitely recommend the balance ball to anyone that wants a good strength training workout at home, but doesn't want to fool with weights, a bench, and a slew of dumb bells!

I even use mine to sit on in front of the computer... Tessa has one for kids as well and loves to use it

Cool! Now that you got one and tried it out I think I'll finally give in too. I've only looked at them fifty times.

LOL -- go for it! You can store it on top of your NordicTrack

Sorry .. couldn't resist being a smug, self-rightous b!tch!

I love mine! They are really nice and crunches are so much easier and your range of motion is so much better because the ball forms around your back.

I LOVE mine! I haven't tried push ups with them, have you?

Yeah, I've done the push ups, but I prefer the other things, don't know the name. I'll have to find some of these exercises and post them.

I have seen these, but I wasn't about to spend $20-30.00 on something I may or may not like. but for $10.00 I think I may try it. I wonder if my Wal-mart has them for that price.

another good reason to go to Wal-mart

I've done pushups with them.

If you haven't used a ball before, I would get comfortable with it before you try some of the exercises. I actually bought a beginners tape that teaches the basic moves for the ball that I like.
