Haven't been here for a while, but to make a long story short...
At the end of almost two and a half years, we finally have our settlement for my husband getting injured at the railroad and having to have 2 back surgeries, miss A LOT of work, etc. A week before we got the check, I got a phone call from my 15 yr old step daughter, that I have talked with you all about in the past. She is pregnant. Well, her dad went down and got her and we now have custody of her. She has been here about 3 weeks,she is in school doing well and happy, and has a job. She said she had to get away from her mother. In talking to parents of her friends, we have found out that all the horrible things we believed to be true about her mother and the way she was being raised were ALL TRUE! Boy, God sure does work in mysterious ways! DH and I truly believe that she let this happen on purpose to do something so horrible that she could get away from her mother.
Please say some prayers for us as we try to steer her towards adoption. We want her to have a life as well as her baby. We have our ears open to God to lead us in the right direction. Her sisters (3) are so very happy to have her here finally and it was a blessing for me that I was the one she told out of all her family...she called me. Thanks guys!
