Shopping Cart covers

I'm looking to get a shopping cart cover for my DD. The only ones I've seen at Wal Mart and Target only cover from handle to back of seat and have toys, but my main want is one that will cover the sides as well. She's still little and moves a lot and I want to make sure that if she leans over her head won't get hit on the side or anything.

I've looked at babiesrus.com but they run for about $40. I think I've found on on Ebay called the Clean shopper, but wondered if anyone had ever used a shopping cart cover and could make any recommendations.

I used one from Babies R Us that was awesome but it was really expensive. It had toy attachements, 5pnt harness (helps keep baby away from the sides) and the back had pockets and compartments for diapers, wipes etc. I would think that there are probably a lot of handmade ones on Ebay for pretty cheap though.
Good luck!

I have the one from Target and I really like it. I used to laugh at moms that used them. "Oh they're just anal, over-protective moms." But EW, who wants their baby putting their mouth on the germ infested cart handle? Katie was having trouble holding herself up at first too but I just made sure the belt was tight enough and we had no trouble at all.

i had one of the ones like Krista, had straps to keep him from leaning over to the sides.. it worked great!

I work at a grocery store and have seen some interesting contraptions used to keep babies safe, i haven't seen one in years but one lady had a cover thingy that had elastic all around it, kinda like a car seat cover thingy.. had two holes for the legs and the rest of it kinda stretched over the seat part, left nothing exposed.

i hope that made sense....maybe one of you sewers can attempt to make something..

I bought a pattern for my MIL to make me one, but who knows when it'll be finished.

I'll do some research for you and post some links.

They sorta look like you can make them yourself. These ones look like you would just need to have the measurements of where the feet holes go and then use elastic around the bottom and sides.

Here's the one I'm looking at. I'm thinking pink gingham. Though if I ever decide to have a 3rd child guess I'll have to rebuy if we get a little boy

They are a little cheaper on Ebay.
