Slings & Carriers

The one and only item that I haven't gotten yet is a sling/carrier. I had one for Cody, but he was so big that it didn't work out. He'd fall asleep in it, but I couldn't get him out without waking him up. It was one of those Snugle brand -- the cheapest ones I think.

Does anyone have any experience with any of the carriers/slings on this page? Slings & Carriers

I have a gift certificate that is burning a hole in my pocket and thought it might be a good time to look into it. I can't believe some of them are $80 -- I refuse to pay that! But do any of the mid-priced ones work? Or is there a brand not pictured there that is good?

I'm tempted to not even waste my money this go around, but there have to be some that work since they are so popular! Thanks for your help!

For some reason, I couldn't access that link you had in your post. I used the Fisher Price front carrier and LOVED it!! Bailey would occasionally wake up when I'd pull her out, but she'd always go right back to sleep. I loved that one b/c it had the head support for infants and then you could fold it down and velcro it for when the baby is older!!

It was only around $20 at Babies R Us. It's Teal/and navy in color. I'm so mad b/c I let a girlfriend borrow it and she moved to Alaska one weekend w/ the military and never gave it back to me!!! Thank goodness they aren't THAT expensive. I'm going to definitely invest in another one!!

I'm leaning towards the Snugli - Out and About Soft Carrier. I looked at it tonight when I was shopping and it has a few unique features. It only has one shoulder strap, and it also snaps open down the sides so it's easier to get the baby out.

Anyone try this one out yet???

Dawn-The snugli double comfort (the cheap one) sucks. I felt like my back was breaking two minutes after I put it on. I only used it three or four times because it just wasn't worth it.

I really recommend the baby bijorn but they are soooo expensive. I had one at one of my nanny jobs and loved it. I hardly felt like I was carrying anything. It sat forward and back and was pretty easy to use.

I have one like the leachco Carry-on Pull over except it is by nojo. I really love it and it is the only way I can get anything done around the house. Maddie really likes to be held and I can do just about anything in it. It also holds a lot of weight..I have carried Gavin in it and he is 30 pounds. I have especially used it when we have gone sight-seeing and strollers aren't allowed and at the grocery store. I also have one of those snugli type carriers but haven't used it yet.
