What did you call Future Mother In-Law and Future Father In-Law before you got married? You know when you introduced them to other people. Mom and Dad or by their name or what?
I call them by their first names. Jeanne and D.

I never had to introduce them. I avoided calling them anything I still do cause I have no idea what to call them. Kev's step dad I just call Jeff cause thats what everone calls him so its easy. But his mom sometimes she says its the MIL or othertimes its mom or other times its her name. So I have no clue what I shouls call her. So most of the time now I just call her grandma.

MIL and I worked together before I ever even met Kyle, so it was never an issue. I have always called her Donna and her husband Gene. (By the way, I didn't meet DH through my MIL.)

Dana...

His mom told me to call her mom. But because of the anal SIL I call her grandma when she is around or I say your mom. Otherwise I call her mom.

FIL I never really got what to call him so I took it upon myself to call him Senior since his son is junior but they are both Randy to me. My Randy is called RJ by his dad's side. But Senior is called Randy. So I call him Senior. I know I confused you.

SMIL I called Christine from the get go. Now she is called Granny.

Confused yet?

DQ I know exactly how you feel.

At the time I worked with Kyle's mom, Kyle was married, and right before I left that job, Donna told me that Kyle was getting divorced. About six months after that, not too long after I had broken an engagement, a friend of a friend said she knew the "perfect guy" for me and wanted to introduce us. I told her that the was no perfect guy for me but that I was up for some fun, I would be happy to meet him. It was Kyle. It took us a couple of dates to put two and two together as far as figuring out he was Donna's son, etc.

I call her Kathy, except when dealing with the kids and then it's Grandma.

Mr and Mrs First name....now it's mom and dad.
By her first name.

I am the only DIL/SIL to call them mom and dad. Everyone else calls them by their first names, but they asked me not to - to call them mom and dad, so I do.

I called Chris's Mom Cheryl mostly, Mom sometimes. I called her hubby Mr. Rios (I was so intimidated by him...still am in some ways.) I never met Chris's Dad until about 5 years after we were married (he and Chris hadn't really 'spoken' for several years).

Now MIL and her hubby are "Grammy" and "Grampy".

And FIL and his wife are "Papaw" and "Granny Phyllis".

Oh I am big on calling Jim, papa. Who knows why and how I came up with that. Maybe because of calling him papa lawless. I do not know.
