Curves

Is anyone a Curves member? Or have you been a member in the past?

I am really thinking about this. DH didn't really like the idea to begin with, but I think he's OK with it now. But I have some questions...

Did you like it?

Was it easier to keep yourself active and motivated if you went to Curves than if you just tried to exercise at home?

Will they let you come in and look around before you make a decision?

How much did you pay? Was it monthly, or did you have to pay for several months in advance? Did you have to sign a contract or anything?

I have a friend that wants to join with me, but she just found out she's pregnant. Her doctor is OK with her being on an exercise program, but I wondered if they had any regulations or anything on that.

Any words of wisdom????

I am a member of Curves. I was skeptical when I went because I am so used to bigger gyms with the "real" machines. You are able to go in and do the 3 rounds before joining. It basically works that the more effort you put into it, the more you get out of it since the machines are hydraulic. When I first joined, in the first 2 months, I lost 18 inches and 4#'s body fat. But because of DH's schedule and such, I haven't been able to go regularly for a while. I was trying to go on lunch since I have started working, but haven't managed that either. DH told me yesterday that he doesn't think Curves is working. Uh, hon could be cos I haven't been going. But I think I am going to join the gym here at the hospital since I won't have to drive anywhere and it has what I am used to. I lost a ton of weight when I went to a regular gym before my wedding.

I got 2 other people to join Curves and they love it. I know there are tons of people that have good results.

Price was $75 registration and $25 a month if you sign a year contract. If you don't sign a contract, I think it is $35 a month.

I am a member of Curves and absolutely love it. It is the first excercise program that has worked for me in a long time. I'm not exactly sure how much I've lost, (I've skipped my last couple of weigh ins) but my pants are starting to get really loose. I'm hoping to be moving down a size when I go to buy summer clothes!

For you questions:

Did you like it? Love it!

Was it easier to keep yourself active and motivated if you went to Curves than if you just tried to exercise at home? Most definetly!

Will they let you come in and look around before you make a decision?
Yes. You should be able to get a pass for one workout to give it a try.

How much did you pay? There is an initial fee. I can't remember what it was, but it was 50% off that month. There is a monthly fee also. I think that is $24.99. (Not sure)

Did you have to sign a contract or anything? You have to sign a one year contract. After one year it goes month by month.

I think it is a great program and I hope it works for you.
