Ovulation predictors

I have been all over the web looking at these and every one of them seems to predict a different "fertile period" for me. How well do these work anyway? Can they work for someone who is irregular and has been for years? Which one is the best?

Grace - I am not an expert on this at all, but I suggest that you buy a box of ovulation test sticks. You use them like a HPT for five days during the time that you should be ovulating...I can't recall which day of your cycle to start - Wolfy can probably help - but when I was TTC Andie, we got it on the second try!! I still have the ovulation test from that month that told me that was the night to babydance!! (Which is kind of getting gross, I guess I should throw it out LOL)

Hope this helps...

Thank you so much. Maybe I will try that. I have tried taking my temperature everyday, but I am just no good at it. I keep forgetting. My mom tells me I should lay in bed and not even move when I take my temperature, because that's what my sister did. I'm just no good at laying in bed. Once, I wake up, I'm up. I can't lay still that long.

Are certain brands of OPKs better than others? Last time I got the Answer kit and no matter what it was completely indistinguishable.

How much do they cost? I looked for them at Walmart, but I didn't see them on the self and I was embarassed to ask the pharmist. (sp)

I got mine at Walmart and had to circle the pharmacy area four times before I spotted them. I think they're between $8-15 depending on the brand.

that's not so bad. I heard they were $40.

$40?!?! Heck no!
You can get the cheap ones at WalMart for $10!
My RE told me that it doesn't matter what brand you get, they are all work the same, so why waste your money on the expensive ones?
THe least expensive ones I found were 'Answer'. (Answer is the brand name.)

I use Answer. It works good for me.
I'm really irregular and so I do mine starting about 3-5 days after taking Clomid (cd 12 is usually when I would start using them and I keep using them until I get a + OPK).
