My Baby is turning 9?

In 3 months but I ALWAYS start planning her birthday early and especially this year since I don't know where I will stand financially. It is kind of scary that she is going to be 9 years old and OMG, in 4th grade.

I'm thinking I'm going to go ahead and put in a reservation for a cabin at the lake and do a slumber party. They are only $60 for a night in a cabin that sleeps 12 and compared to even a shelter rental at a park, that is pretty dern cheap.

I am so thankful for my bargain shopping over the past year because I already have everything I need for goody bags and game prizes. Back around the after Christmas sales I found Bratz make-up and little Click-Its sets for dirt cheap so thinking ahead I picked up 10 of each. I also had found little gift sets of Hello Kitty lipgloss that had 5 each in them so I got 2 and thought I would open them up and put 1 in each bag + I bought 2 different sets of Hello Kitty make-up to use as prizes. THEN a few weeks ago I found stacks of Barbie stickers at GW for only $39 cents per pack and really cute goodie bags in packs of 10 for $89. So I figure that if I pick up a bag of candy and put a little in each plus what I have, we will already have some really cool goody bags.

I also had picked up a Quantum LeapPad back around Christmas but I'm thinking that with the preschool books I just got in the mail and Haley getting older it may be a more appropriate gift for Zach next Christmas. I do have a scrapbooking kit in my closet for her and today at the mall I found the coolest pink mini radio and CD player on clearance from $40 to $14. I want to find her 2 or 3 more "big girl" accessories for her room because she is really getting too old for her pink and blue girly girl room and you can tell she wants to change it. Unfortunately I keep seeing her look at hotpink and black things.
I've decided that my big gift for her is going to be a keyboard but I've yet to find one in my price range.
I think I'm going to have to ask (tell) Mike to get it for her.

Anyway, thanks for listening to me babble. I have to get wrapped up in planning things lately to keep my sanity.

Sounds like Haley's going to have a great party! Don't feel bad, sweetie. I have friends my age who are grandmothers.
