Early Potty Training??

Livia is going to be 20mos. next week and she has been showing signs of being ready to potty train for a couple of months now. We've tried letting her run around bare-bummed on the weekends, in hopes of catching her in time to run to the bathroom, but no such luck. The kid will sit on the potty for literally hours and she'll hold it. The second I let her out of the bathroom, she pees all over the floor.

But at the same time, she's telling me when it's time to change her bum, when she poops, etc. and she's constantly grabbing at her pants. Yet, everytime I take her to the potty, she holds it until she gets off.

Any suggestions?

Here's what worked for me. Before bathtime ask her if she has to go? Stand her in the water and before she sits down get the little potty bowl and stick it under her bum inform her that's where the pee goes in there. It worked like a charm for me.

Or just take her out of the bath and sit her down on the pot after letting her get wet a little. I also kept telling my son that he wasn't allowed to pee in the water and that's how he learned to go potty.

I think sometimes they don't want to sit and think about going or try to go. This way most of the time you have to go when you first get in the bath and it allows them to grasp the concept without having to sit on the pot. Hope that made sense ???
