What's an appropriate gift amount?

For a child you don't know very well? A little boy in Cody's preschool invited him to his birthday at the bowling alley. Other than them being in class together, we don't really know him that well. Based on that, I was thinking about a Walmart card so he can pick out his own gift. Is $10 enough?

Yep I would think that is plenty.

that is more than enough considering that you don't really know him that well

$10 is usually my standard for Kimmy's classmates!

Thanks! I feel better! For some reason, I think a $10 gift card seems "cheap" whereas a $10 gift would have looked like more. But I didn't want to risk getting something that he doesn't like or his parents might not approve of.

Sounds right to me. Cody have a fun time.

I would think the same thing....and lets face it....$10 to a pre=schooler is a TON of money

Yep...$10.00 would be plenty. Wal-Mart has those $4.88 gifts also...I love those.

I think that's more than adequate for someone you don't know very well.

Libby! I love those, too. And younger kids don't care. They just like opening stuff!

10-15 is good enough.

Yeah I think 10.00 is enough. To a little kid that is a lot. We had to buy a present for a little kid in Christian's preschool and we spent like 15.00 or so on him!

I agree, $10 or you can even get some decent things for less - I would say $10-15 can get a game or cars or something -
