Yes, I do! I think it's important that children learn that everything they say or do affects other people and that they should be considerate of other's feelings. If they grow up to be mean adults with no regards for anyone else's feelings, it won't be because they were't taught better!

So far, she doesn't really say that much that I can understand, but if she hits me or bites me or throws something at me, I let her know it hurts.

Yes - I do.

It's starting to back fire on me though. When I reprimand Kyler he's not telling me that I'm hurting HIS feelings!!

I also have always told Ali she is hurting me, I feel kids need to know that their parents and other people around them have feelings like she does.
Shari emotions are hard for kids to deal with sometimes, showing what they feel and do. Keep trying.

Yes I do as well.

As they get older, I have had to tell them things that I thought they would 'just know' but they don't because they are not telepathic.

Like "Going to bed without saying goodnight makes me feel like I'm not important to you"

Etc, etc.

I do but I don't scold them for hurting my feelings. I just want them to learn that what they say and do can hurt others in ways that don't show.

Oh no I do not scold, just a normal voice as a regular conversation.
