my dh called his mom today to see how she was because he's a good son... and "surprise, surprise" she has our niece (her Favorite granddaughter there).. and all she had to say to dh was bragging about her
it really irks me b/c he called her .. she didn't even ask about her grandsons but she could sit there and brag on her favorite and make dh feel like crap!!!!
We love our niece to pieces...she is a couple months older than Nathan and ever since she was born mil treats her like she's the only grandkid that matters!!!! She treats her like she's the "baby" and nathan is actually the youngest grandkid!! Everytime I hear her bragging about her I just feel like crap....

sorry.... but i need to let it out somewhere

it wouldn't bother me if she did it once in a while, but it seems to be continuous lately... it's like she's taking it out on us/and her grandsons because i didn't have a little girl (she always wanted me to have a little girl...sorry it didn't turn out that way... )

I just wish that she would show some interest in Jacob and Nathan... even a phone call to see how they are or stopping by to visit sometime....
Dh and I aren't gonna be in contact with them until they contact us... we live about an hour from them and it seems that we're always the ones making contact ... the street goes both ways

I'm so sick of feeling this way and I'm not gonna subject myself to it anymore.... maybe they'll get the picture!!!!!!!!

You know I am sort of in the same boat, my parents do not give to much of a flip for my daughter Alisha and it bothers me, but I do what I can. Both my parents do not live close, so of course her grandparents that think the world of her is Jim's parents which I am so glad they do.

i think another that hurts me so bad is that Jacob was at one time their favorite.... and there have been times that he's asked to stay with his Nana and Papa and they've told him no

but I guess I should be glad that the boys have aunts and uncles who love them to pieces and they also have "adopted" grandparents (dh's best friends parents love the boys to death... and spoil them rotten)

I am so glad to hear that. It does hurt because your afraid it will hurt your child or the question will soon come and you are not sure what you are going to say.
