Did you get your tubes tied, or did DH get a vasectomy(sp)?

For those who's DH got a vasectomy, did it hurt? Any info on that would be great!

Randy got snipped.

I was going to get my tubes tied but when I inquired with the doctor about it, he actually talked DH into it.

He said that since Jan went through all the pain of childbirth it should only be far that the procedure was done on him. Plus that I would have to do it as an inpatient somewhere else and my doc could not do it. DH had it done with me in the room and in the doctors office.

DH did have complications. But after a few month the grapefruit like swelling went down. THis is rare so don't tell him of that part

Johnny got snipped and let me tell you-it was NOTHING! Took literally 10min and it is one stitch on the top of each nut sack He can TOTALLY get it done Tara, he will be just fine.

I had my tubal done at the same time as my c-section with Josh otherwise DH would have gotten snipped.

I got my tubes tied, but ONLY because I was already having a c-section. If I had delivered normally, DH would have been snipped, or so he claims

Neither of us have had either done, but Billy swears that he will NOT get snipped and I swear that I will NOT get my tubes tied, so I guess it'll be up to God and nature to let us know when we're done having kids because just like after Elizabeth was born, I also refuse to go back on BC!

Plus we found out recently that the Catholic church considers it a sin to do either. They also are against BC but that's not my reasoning for that - I just don't think it's all my responsibilty!

I really don't know what we are going to do dh says that he's not getting snipped, but I don't want to have a surgery. Why should I always be the one recuperating?

I had my tubes tied but only because I was already on the table with the c-section. Like Dawn and others if I had delivered vaginally Court would have gotten it done. It is MUCH MUCH MUCH less invasive for the man to do it. A simple in and out in like an hour. I took my brother when he had his done and other than some soreness he had no issues.

I am thinking a urologist did my brothers but I could be wrong.

Court and I still talk about him getting it done because we are just too dang fertile.

This is a touchy subject in my house. I am not going to get my tubes tied. I seen the pain my mom went through after doing it and I swore I would not put myself though the same thing. My husband says He will NOT get fixed. He said if it ain't broke why fix it. So who knows what's going to happen.

I had my tubes tied when the boys were about 16 months old.

I chose to have it done bc I am the one who didn't want any more children. My Dh would have been perfectly happy with more, it didn't seem fair to sterilise a man in his late 20's bc I was done having kids.

Matt also refuses to get a vasectomy.

I don't know why I have the be the one that deals with birth control for the next 20 years! Why can't he take some responsibility?

I have an IUD (atleast i sure as hell hope its still there) and after it comes out in 4 years, one of us is getting fixed! I bet ya it isn't going to be me either! I've given birth NATURALLY to 2 8 pound children! :tongue:

After I had Ally (at 35) I told Rick it was his turn. No snip, no nookie! He got it done 2 months after Ally was born! So now he is a sports model - all for show!
