I'm looking for a baby carrier

I have the bjorn, but it's really not what I need.
I'm looking for something to "help" me hold Delaney on my hip.

We have been bringing Delaney to the track with us. When we are there, she loves to look around. However, she HAS to be on my hip or she freaks.
So - I hold her with a death grip for hours and it hurts!!

I was hoping to get a sling type carrier - or something - that would help me holder her so I wouldn't have to worry about her dropping.

Does anyone have one that they could recommend? There are so many out there.

Actually the thing I was looking at first was the seat for Airplanes. I figured it would be nice if I could have some type of seat that straps too me in the stands. But, when I just looked it up it says that it straps to the belt buckle.

can't you use a stroller?

Other wise I have an older one that you attached to your back.

I sold my other carrier, sorry.

We bring the stroller. But - for some reason - she doesn't want to be in it.
It's kind of like she wants to check everything out, however, she wants to do it from the comfort of my arms.
She wouldn't even go to Dan.

Thanks Jan.

I want something more like this:

I have the baby bjorn that fits in the front. But she doesn't like to just "hang" out there. She wants to hold on to me.
I'm not comfortable with the backpack ones because we are in the stands and I can't see if someone is touching her from behind me. OR if the cars are going by, I can't tell if she's crying. (She wears a head set)

I have this one.... (but mine does not have such an ugly design )
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...981597386&rd=1

I used it when I flew to see Liz & Maci was only 9 months old. I also use it around the house when she is not feeling well and wants to be held. I really liked it.

I have used the first 2 like Jan posted but I really liked the sling better. Maci is a clingy one and this was the only way to sooth her. I still have the other ones but she refused to get in them

Michele - do you really like your sling? I thought about it... but I wasn't sure. Is it something you have to get use too?
I noticed while at wal mart that the playtex hip hammock has some recalls on it - said the shoulder stitching can come undone! Might wanna check into it if ya have one of them.

I personally just plop Kate into the stroller and away we go - she loves it as long as I let her sit up and see the world.

my SIL loved her sling used it forever! she lent it to me and i couldnt get logan to like it so i never used it...

I tried a sling but I never really got the hang of it. When I went to China to get Katie, everyone said I HAD to get a Hip Hammock so I did. Out of 12 families, 9 of us had them. It's awesome! The babies ranged in age from 9 mos to 2 yrs and everyone did just fine. She's 15 mos now and weighs 20 pounds and I still use it a lot. Sometimes it's just easier than taking the stroller.

Livia never liked her sling much either.

Nicholas is more active now so he wn't stay in it all the time....but when he does its awesome....if i dont' use it my back and arms kill me....but with it, i throw him on my hip and we are good to go.
