or maybe they do drugs in the family.
Do you have any of these in your family? How does it effect you or do you just let it slide and you do not have anything to do with them?

Yep. Got some long stories to tell about it. Not my parents or his parents though. They are all people that we can easily distance ourselves from.

Yep. Not my side - his side.

To Dan, it's always been that way. To me... I hasn't.
To say the least, we limit our time with them.

Kev's parents seperated cause of his drinking. (his dad's) His dad is one big drunk. I always told him "he's your dad - give him a chance" Until I really got to know him. His brain is so fried from alcohol (he got arrested a few months ago on his fifth DWI) he dont know what hes saying have the time.

My grandmother was a drug addict. She used to visit us, take a handful of tranquillizers and pass out for the visit, then leave saying she had a wonderful time. Wow, she's been gone over 20 years now! I have a lot of "dry drunks" on both sides of my family. Dh has more than his share of alcholics in his family. We don't expose our dd to them. Many of them are under 30. But absolutely hopeless drunks and druggies. Well, maybe not hopeless, but until they decide to change, it's hopeless to try to change them.
