Dental work while nursing?

Ok I KNOW I need work done - major work.

Does anyone know if its safe while nursing to have like the novacane and stuff while nursing?

I would really like to get my toofers fixed (as I have pain regularlly ) but not if I have to give up nursing - I have fought too hard to get this far.

I'm assuming novicane is fine.
I had to have a cavitiy filled when pregnant... and they gave me novicane. Said it was fine while pregnant. So... I'm assuming it would be fine while nursing as well.

I am pretty sure too. Why not call the Dentist and ask, couldn't hurt!

I had some dental work done while I was nursing Issac...I think it's generally safe, but I remember Issac spit up a lot after I got home and nursed him.

Yes it is safe. If you have anything stronger...then you may want to pump and dump. I had 2 wisdom teeth pulled when Gavin was 6 weeks old and they put me out for that. I had to pump and dump for a while with that. But I also had other work done too and it was fine. Even gas was ok.

I had a crown put on while I was nursing and before the dentist started I let him know that I was breastfeeding...asked if anything he did that day would cause my milk to decrease or if there would be something in my milk that Elizabeth didn't need...he said no it all was safe and fine.
