How Soon Before or After You Found Out...

That you were pregnant, did you start having symptoms of being pregnant? What sort of symptoms do/did you have??

I'm asking because with both my pregnancies my symptoms have been the same and so far, the same with this pregnancy as well. With Sydney & Livia, I had no sickness whatsoever, but the exhaustion was overwhelming. With Sydney, I started getting heartburn around the 6mos. mark and with Livia it was immediate and everything gave me heartburn, incl. water.

So far, I'm wiped, tired beyond belief and I've already had one bout of heartburn (I only ever get heartburn when pregnant) and I've only known this pregnancy for 2 weeks, although the tiredness has been longer. This is leading me to believe that we will be having another girl. I've always just assumed that if I ever got pregnant with a boy, all the signs would be different.

What do you think?

With Delaney, I started feeling morning sickness about 2 weeks after conceiving. (At the time... I didn't know I was prego, but I started suspected due to the way I was feeling).


Congratulations Leah!!! I missed the post where you announced it!! I'm so happy for you!!!

Well, let's see, I just found out yesterday and I feel like crap. I have been feeling a little here and there but just thought heat (heat index is 105 here in lovely GA). But today, and I was just going to post my own thread), I am sick and I feel extremely light headed and crampy.

With both the boys, I knew I was pregnant before the tests because I had this "dizzy" feeling, that when I would turn my head, it was like my brain followed 10 seconds later, and just a weird feeling throughout my body. Hard to describe. And I was sick here and there. But so far this time, I haven't had that "dizzy" feeling at all, and I feel sick all day and feel like I could faint. I never had that with the boys. Hopefully that means girl??

I felt the same dizziness, almost as if the room was spinning slowly, with both Sydney & Livia too. I know the exact feeling you are describing Jennifer. I was also absent-minded, that's how I knew right away with Livia, even before missing my period.

So far, with this pregnancy, I haven't had the dizziness so-to-speak or the forgetfulness, but everything else has been the same.

Oh and I should mention the headaches! They have been absolutely horrible and pretty much daily. Tylenol won't even touch them.

I felt not all there-foggy brained about 2 weeks. I never had m/s with either PG. When I was PG with Bri, my started growing fast and furious at around the 4 week mark but with the twins they haven't grown at all. I started feeling the effects of PG later this PG than with Brianna.

My pregnancies have had subtle differences but basically been the same and I have one of each so far. The only real difference was that I carried Alexander & Elizabeth completely different. Because I'm carrying this one like I did Al, I've convinved myself it's a boy but you never know . . .

With Maddie, I had the sore boobs before I found out, then I got morning/afternoon/evening sickness right around the 6-week mark. Had really crappy skin too, for the first trimester.

With Livia, no sore boobs, the only way I figured it out was that I was a day late for my period. I got morning/afternoon/evening sickness right around the 6-week mark.

With this one, I just kinda realized I didn't have a period in May. Got morning/afternoon/evening sickness at, guess what, the 6-week mark. BLEH. No sore boobs either, but I was still nursing. With all three of these, I have a difficult time brushing my teeth without throwing up. ICK.

With Kyle, I only threw up once.

I was fine until I was around 12 wks pregnant then every Friday like clockwork I would throw up anything I ate and feel nauseous all the time! I also had horrible constipation, hemmrhoids, and heartburn in the beginning. Now all of that has went away. It's just harder to move from place to place.

I don't think I had many signs with Michael and Devon at first other than being tired. With Nick I was tired, kept getting sick(with what I thought was a cold), and I was very emotional. Soon after the teeth thing started. Every time I brushed I would gag. With Kiera I knew I was pregnant around 3 weeks because I gagged a lot when I brushed my teeth and I was tired. I think I had acne to.

after two weeks of finding out that i was pregnant. my morning sickness happened sooner now than it did when i was pregnant with Raymond. Right now Im at 5wks and i would say that the past 3, i have lost my appetite, my senses are sooo much stronger my boobs hurt. and yeah i felt tired. this feels totally different than when i was pregnant with Raymond.

My period was late, but I waited until the 3rd day to do a pregnancy test coz my periods aren't very regular anyway. Also I was needing to use the toilet alot (although I had a urine infection at the time too) (sorry, I know its discusting) I felt really tired but had no idea this was a sign of pregnancy until I read a pregnancy book. I did 6 pregnancy tests (in the public toilets of a shopping mall) and they were all positive (I did 6 coz I wanted to see if all the brands I picked were saying the right thing) I didn't start getting morning sickness til I was 3 months along and it lasted until 8 months, and I didn't get sore breasts or feel bloated til about 2 days after I found out. I had cravings for Wendy's smoothies and it didn't even occure to me then. I loved being pregnant

Mine have all been similar but none identical. I can't really remember how quickly symptoms started in my past pregnancies but with this one it was within days of finding out. I do remember the symptoms I had with each of them though.
I've always had the lightheadedness although sometimes worse than others... a few times even things started going black and I truelly almost passed out. I've always had the almost constant sick feeling to my stomach but only threw up with my second and now fourth pregnancies. I didn't have any heartburn with my first two pregnancies but did with my third and fourth.
Also with my last two pregnancies I got really tired and breathless in the first trimester.
I can't say that I had similar symptoms based on the sex of the baby.
