I am 23 yrs of age and have a 10 month old baby. I often get mistaken 4 being younger than i am so ppl stare at me coz they think i'm a teen mum, then when i tell them how old i really am they STILL judge me and say things like "You're 2 young 2 be a mum" or "u won't be able 2 get a decent job or travel, you've ruined ur life" comments like these really piss me off. Ppl think just coz you're young you dont know what ur doing. Can anyone relate????

I kind of can, I'm 25 with 3 kids and a lot of people think I'm much younger, it does annoy me some, but I guess when I'm older I'll appreciate it more!

I WISH I could relate! Seriously though, I may not get comments that I look too young, but there's always somebody out there that thinks you shouldn't let your kids do this or that or you should do things this way ... etc. I just ignore them.

If it were me, and somebody said they thought I was much younger, I'd just smile and thank them. Don't let them know they get to you. I was over 30 when I had my last two kids and got lots of comments about how old I'd be when they graduate high school.

Oh well ... my life, so get over it. I just smile and say "yes, I do realize how old I'll be when they graduate" and go on about my business.

I'd just "thank them" for their comments, then go on about my way. It seems that once you have kids, at any age, you just open yourself up to the criticism of total strangers.

I'm 23 (24 in October) and I have a 5 year old and a 15 month old.

Thats what I tell people.

I have been married almost 4 years, I own my own home, I own my vehicles, I'm paying for everything that we do/own, nobody is helping me- so NOBODY has the right to comment or judge me.

I'd ask them some sort of rude question about their age. Especially if it's a woman. If she looks 35 ask how it feels to be 65?? they go away then. I'm pretty blunt though

it is so true that once you have kids people seem to be allowed to judge and comment any way they choose.

It's like your damned if you do and damed if you dont.

I would like to say thank you for your opinion but mind your own business.

Welcome to my life!!!! Once I went to an Elementary school to enroll my friends kids and I spit out my gum and missed the trash can, when I went to go stand up to get it this teacher gets in my face talking about "Im gonna call your mother, you are gona get detention for chewing gum in school, What is your problem?" Telling me all sorts of nasty things, I just looked at her and said , Im so glad That i am NOT a student here because If I were you would be the teacher i hated the most, and seeing as how Im not a student or have children that come to this school, Im glad, because if I did I be in your office discussing why you talk to children the way you talked to me! I was so mad!! I had my 2 year old daughter with me at the time!! People are just nosey!!

I am proud to say that I can relate. I hear all the time that I cannot be old enough to have a 10 year old. When I went in for my facial a couple weeks ago, the lady doing it could not believe that I am 30 years old. It used to be annoying but now I just LOVE it. I had Cori when I was 20 and I got a lot of rude comments about I was too young and such. Most of the time I blew it off unless they were being snotty and then I would say something just as rude back. Trust me though, you will appreciate it greatly when you are older. I still rub it in my friends faces (Krista and Liz ) when I go to the casino and get carded every time.
