Highlights from 6 hours with the in-laws

Only 6 hours and 10 million comments .. do they just TRY to squeeze in as much HELL as they can!

But honestly .. I kept my and did not loose it.

Here are the highlights!!

Party starts at 10:30 .. cell phone rings at 10:05 (we are on our way) .. Nephew yells at me because they are at the mall and I'm late. Um ... nope, you are early so deal with it!! I live 3 miles from the mall and they screamed "what too so long" when we got there 2.7 minutes later!

Numerious eyes rolled and lots of HRUHMP's from the in-laws when Kale opened his Polly Pocket Mermaid set .. he begged for this toy and LOVES it!

My MIL told me the cake was "pretty good considering" .. I've always made my kids cakes and she just started doing so when I came into her life .. so whatever!

Back at home .. YES, they came back to our home eventhough Stan has to work tonight (3rd shift) and needed to go to sleep by 3 .. and we needed to go visit my sister's BIL at the hospital because his mother is dying .. they came home with us! My neice (she is 3) followed me into my bedrom while I was on the phone with the hospital and started tearing my shoes out of my closet. I asked her to leave the room until I was off the phone and she said .. "No you F(*#*ng B(*#$h" ... so I politely picked her up and put her in the hallway and locked the door behind her!

Later ... I was back in the bedroom on the phone (another call from the hospital) trying to get some privacy to hear and neice follows me in the room again .. I ignored her. She was in my underwear drawer .. not a place a child should be!! .. but I just ignored it while putting stuff back into the drawer. When I got off the phone I told her I was leaving the room and she needed to come with me (I said .. Come on Kaleigh .. mabye we can have some more ice cream) and she ran to me and bit my thigh .. I mean .. the girl was hanging from my leg by her teeth. I picked her up and told her to leave my room now .. no longer being nice ... and she said "No you F(*@*(g B((*#h" again. SO I told her fine and I left the room and turned the light out behind me. This kid ran to my bedroom door and slammed it and started screaming. Her mother went to check on her and she told her mother that I locked her into the bedroom .. I told them what had happened and they were like "she'd never say that ... it must be made up". And then my wonderful DH reminded them that just last week this same kid locked her brother into their dark bathroom and though it was funny!!

Ok .. so I'm THRILLED that they are gone and will not be around us again until September!!!!!! Lord they are so rude!

Sorry you had to put up with that. I hope it didn't ruin Kale's Birthday party.

It was actually a great party .. the afterparty was less than desirable. But I can do this for 5 - 7 hours once every few months!!!!

What are they doing about this little person's mouth? My goodness, I would of flipped cookies if that came out several times to me, lot stronger then I am.

I would have soaped her mouth. But that's me. No three year old should be talking like that.

I am thankful for my nieces, and hoping that the nephew to be will be good. My FSIL is due in October. We'll see how the muchkin is when we meet him at Thanksgiving.

That little girl sounds like a real brat! Glad you don't have to deal with that too often!

It is really sad .. her father incourages this kind of behavior from her!!!

UGH! I think I would've chucked that kid right across the room.

Oh my goodness!! I have the same kind of disapproval from my MIL sometimes, although it is masked by a big smile usually. And they would follow us home, too, so I can relate about how much of a pain that can be, especially when you have something important going on later in the day.

I am so glad my nieces aren't that bratty! Good grief, I don't know how you handled yourself as well as you did! I think I might have put a bar of soap in her mouth!

Kudos for keeping your cool!!!!
