I am 37 weeks pregnant, and my baby is measureing LARGE. My due date is Sept.16, but my doc has encouraged me to try things that will help put me into labor now. I am already dialated 1cm, and she can feel my babys head! Needless to say, I am very large, and uncomfortable. She told me to go home and have hubby try to break my water....by having sex. My husband keeps making excuses for not wanting to do it. I have also been bouncing on the ball, walking, etc. Do any of you ladies have any other suggestions on how to help bring on labor? I keep hearing sex is the best way, but my husband isn't willing to help me. I am so scared to give birth to a 10lb+baby!!!! S*

I've heard black coash works, but I've never used it.

I wouldn't be bouncing on a ball, you're more likely to injure yourself and put your baby in destress than break your waters.
Sperm is what helps to induce labor and also the uteran contractions of orgasms works too (you don't need DH for that )
If your OB wants to induce labor, why hasn't he/she organised a proper induction?

My son measured large for my whole pregnancy. 98th% and larger. I had extra scans. They questioned my dates (I had an IUI so no question there). Zach was a whopping...............7 lbs 5 oz when he was born. He was a peanut. My daughter was larger than him! So don't get too worried. They could be wrong.

Thanx for the welcome

Hi, I'm still looking to encourage labor, thankyou for the advice. I am trying rasberry leaf tea 2-4 times a day, drinking pinapple juice, and my husband is starting to come around a little with the idea of sex. All of this is definatley bringing on alot of cramps and some contractions (which are still untimely). So hopefully things will happen quickly! Even if it don't, I will try to be happily patient!

I hope your baby is here soon. They did and US on me to determine the size of my son they told me he was 9 lb 2 oz and when i had him he was 8lbs and 11 1/4 oz. Still a little on the big size but not what they told me. So they can be wrong try not to worry about it to much.

The baby will come when he's ready. Don't rush him, better to wait now until he's ready to make an entrance.

I know how you feel! Nothing has worked for me and I'm at 41 weeks. I've tried everything. You name it.
