hi again, i keep reading about the benefits of inserting evening primrose oil capsules into the vagina to help soften and ripen the cervix for delivery.i am not sure how to go about doing so...am i supposed to use something to push it in there deep enough, or just my fingers??? i read this is a safe herb to use and can give you the same results to help bring on labor as sex would. so if anyone can tell me how to go about inserting epo capsules, please let me know. so far all of you have been so helpful and nice!!! thanx! I read that you should use one of those insert thingys you use when you have a yeast infection. You know the thing that inserts the meds? I was taking the epo by mouth only and having tons of and so far nothing has happened for me and I'm at 41 wks!

I was told to break open the capsules and only to use the liquid. I think I also layed in bed on pillows in order to keep the oil where it needed to be. I'm not positive it helped but I did try it.

I had read that you just applied the oil as you "stretched" out the vagina to help eliminate the need for an episiotomy. I couldn't bring myself to try it, so who knows???
