What do you think?

If I have a girl (PLEASE) we have always had Kaitlyn as our choice. But I have been thinking of a slight variation.

What about Kaidlyn or Cadelyn? What other ways could you spell it? I think Cadie or Kadie would be a nice nickname but a little more original than Katie. Plus Kaitlyn is one of the number one names....

Cadie or Kadie IS a cute nickname! The other ways I can think of are:

Caidlyn
Caidlin
Cadelin
Kaidlin
Kadelin
Kadelyn

I love the Kaidlyn too!!! Great original name Jennifer...

My girl friend Melissa has a daughter. Her moms name was Linda and her sisters name was Katie. She named her Kalin. After her mom and sissy.

Also with a "K"

That is pretty to Jannie. I like Kalin! I just thought it would be something different. Of course, DH probably won't like it. I like Kaidlyn also! Thanks ladies, it sounded weird, but the more I say it, the more it is growing on me.

Mentioned the name to DH last night and he flat out said no, says he does not like it. And to top it off, now he doesn't like Kaitlyn anymore either!

He suggested Misty..... um not. I had a dog named Misty.

Nope .. not if you've ever had a dog by that name!!!

One of my friends had a baby girl four months after I had Emily and her name is Kaydie. It's a cute name. I like Kalin and Kaidlyn, too.

I love it..although I like names that are a little different..

Its nice, but I like Kaitlyn better. Also ppl might mispronounce her name (ie they will say Kaitlyn anyway instead of Kaidlyn)

Jennifer!!!! I was just about to respond that Misty sounds like a dog's name when I read that you actually had a dog named Misty.
Tell him that you are having the baby and that you get the final say. When he can grow one and birth it, he can have the final say!
Men come up with some of the most off the wall names, I swear!

No offense to anyone who has a Kaitlyn, but I love your alternative to it. So many little girls around here at least are named Kaitlyn.. there are a ton in Duncan's school. But hten I am not one for popular names, the only kid I have with a semi-popular name is Logan.

I like Cadelyn, I think its very cute and a nice alternative to the overused Kaitlyn.
