HOW LONG DID YOU HAVE TO STAY IN THE HOSPITAL AFTER HAVING THE BABY?

Just wondering how long everyone had to stay in after having the little one.
I was in for 5 days with Austin with my C-Section, I couldn't wait to get home to my own bed and start our lives together!!

Sorry I haven't posted much this week, it has been a busy and bad week. Hubby and I have been arguing and my mom 50th b-day was Wed, and I am having a family party for her tomorrow!!
SORRY!!!

I had a c-section and only stayed in 3 days. With Jessi, I stayed in less than 48 hours (not a c-section).

Hope things improve for you! Sounds like a rough week!

I had Austin 12:34am Wednesday morning and I left at 11:30 Thursday morning.. less than 24 hours.. LOL I asked if I could go home.. they really didn't want me to, but I begged my doc. I'd never been in the hospital before, so I wanted out of there. They let me go home, but I had to have a Home Health Nurse come and check Austins iron level in his blood and check my stitches and stuff. Which was no big deal.. I WAS HOME!!! LOL

I stayed in the hospital 2 nights because it was my first child. If it would have been my 2nd or more child, the military hospital would have let me go after one night in the hospital. Luckily DH was with me when I woke up and he stayed until 10 and left and was back again the next morning at the same time

With Kayla I stayed 4 days, Alyssa was 2 days and with Jordan it was 1 1/2 days even though I was still on complete flat bed rest due to a spinal headache. Ended up going back in 2 days later due to still having a severe headache.

I had Haley around 8 pm on Saturday and went home about 10 am on Monday. I was so tired though that I wouldn't have minded staying a little longer.

With Drew, it was less than 24 hours. He was born at 9:10 PM on Friday night and I went home at 3 PM on Saturday. I hate hospitals and the nurses just couldn't convinvce to stay.

With Ally, she was born at 9:15 PM on Wednesday and the doctor wouldn't let me go until Friday morning. He released me at 6 AM (bless his heart, he knew how much I wanted out of there), but Ally wasn't ready until 11 AM. Had to wait for the pediatrician to give the OK before they would let her leave.

Did I mention how much I hate hospitals?

The Maternity Center's policy was no more than twelve hours.
If everything was OK, good to go. If not, you were already at the hospital down the hwy.

With Angela, they let us go after 7 hours because MIL convinced them that they would have 1 room and we would have another, ajoining, room in the hotel. (Got my dad to hold her there!!!) Then we had the 1st appt. for the 1 day check up and scheduled a nurse to come to our apt. for the 3 day check up.

Brandon: stayed 11 hours. MIL called to say that Angela really wanted to see her brother. We made arrangements for the nurse to come over for days 1, 2, 3 because he was really jaundiced and they had almost sent him to the hospitol.

Caitlyn: maybe 4. We were pros by now! Plus they needed the room for the next mom-to-be.

With my twins, I went into the hospital on a Saturday, had them on Sunday and went home on Wednesday, but they had to stay there for 2 months. With Gabriel, I went to the hospital on Friday morning, had him that night and went home that Sunday.

hospital stay

With my first one it was 2 days. Everything was normal. With Bailey, my 10 1/2 pound baby boy, I passed out after his birth (duh, i wonder why?!) and was anemic so they insisted that i stay an extra day. I really wanted to go home though. 3 days total with Bailey. With Emily I went home in 2 days and wished that i could stay longer cuz they had a sunken whirlpool tub! Wish that i would have given birth to all three of the kiddos at Barnes where I had Emmie! I wouldn't have minded the stay so much!

Mommy to 3 wonderful babies:
Zachary, age 5
Bailey, age 3
Emily, born 10/22/00

SEVEN LONG gruling days in an uncomfortable bed. I was in a private room and if my husband didnt come and see me everyday, I swear the rest of the world would have forgotten about us. I don't remember seeing a nurse unless we buzzed and the first night after I was brought to the maternity floor (after 2 days on the delivery floor) I couldn't EVEN REACH the buzzer , I couldn't walk, turn on the light NUTHING and no one came to check on me until my husband came which was hours later. SIGH

It was a horrible time I was very glad to get home to my own cosy water bed (which is very hard to move in after a c-section).

I was in the hospital after having Nathan for about 14 days. Long story short, had c-section, found out I had pneumonia, DIED, came back, and went home 2 days later.. Little easier with Morgann. Had c-section with her also was in hospital for about a week. Both pregnancies were high risk and had complications with both......too long of story to get into it.......

I had Italy early Tuesday morning went home late Wednesday night! I couldnt wait to get ou tof there! I hated the nurses. They were so mean. and the babys nurse was horrible!!!!! The nurses kept doing what they wanted no matter what my and the babys doctor said. The nurses tried to make me stay later but I was already dressed and unplugged so they had to let me go... I will never go to that hospital ever again! Thank god Luis was able to stay overnight with me or I wouldve gone insane... Did i mention that the nurses were monsters...

With my first I left the hospital 24 hrs after she was born (1988).
With my second I also left 24 hrs later (1991).
With my third they tried to get me to stay 48 hrs but I had two children at home that also needed me. So I left after 24 hrs (2000).
Now I'm due to have #4 11-21-01 and again I don't plan an staying longer then 24 hrs. But it's all up to the mom and how she feels. If she's ready to go I think she should go. But if she's not then she needs to stay.
