What happened at your first OBGYN appt when you were pregnant? I don't know what to expect and if my DH should go with me. I think by the time they will see me I will be about 9-11 weeks along I'm not totally sure on the date.

At all of my first Dr. appts., the Dr. listed to my heart, checked my weight and BP, did somewhat of a check-up, blood work and an internal exam. They usually ask you a whole bunch of questions, personal health, family history, etc. They'll go over the basics with you, and then it's your turn to ask your questions.

It's kind of special to have DH there for the first appt., but definitely not necessary. I think Marco came to my very first one with Sydney and he probably hasn't been to one since. He was there for the ultrasounds though - that's the most important (IMO).

Kev never came to any of my apts.

Leah hit it on the head. They do like a mini physical (and mine would do a pap if you havent had one recently - but both times I had had one like a month or two before)

and a ton of medical history - yours & DH's family.

Leah has it. Also, if you are lucky, they will try and hear the heartbeat. I don't think Leah's doctor did, but mine did at 11 weeks and I got to hear it. You definately want DH there is that is the case.
