MY MIL Doesnt even call to check on the kids

Ok. So my MIL doesnt care for me. But she could at least call to check on her own grandkids. She sent Lawrence a birthday card and some money, but she didnt even call to wish him a happy birthday. I dont think she relizes that she is just putting a gap between her and the kids.

I'm in the same boat.

It's been almost 3 weeks since my IL's have seen my kids.. they haven't called either. And Austin started school last week.

My Inlaws are the same way. They wonder why Maddy cries when she sees them. Taylor is a step grandkid so he don't care. The last time they saw Maddy was on her bday in April. They both work a mile from our house and live in the same town as we do! Its bull!

It's the same way with my inlaws right now... they don't call here or come here to see their grandkids they always expect us to do it... It's really quite sad on their part!!!

awww does it count when my own mother hasnt called to check or want to see Raymond for 5 months?! on her. on the brighter side, my MIL is great. she calls almost every day and she lives in another state.

Deadbeat grandmothers will regret it one day.

My mother doesn't call me ever...or the kids, unless she wants something. Not even on birthdays. I always wish she would show that she cared, even a little bit.

My ex-mil, but still my sons' grandma, hasn't checked on my kids since her son left me, which was 16 years ago. They always said that no matter what he did or who he married that I would always be their dil and yet I have not heard from them for 16 years. My sons have just gotten used to it and realize that that side of the family is just different from my side.

Wow. I didnt realize there were so many others that were in the same boat we are in. I know that it hurts dh that his mom is that away.
