Baby Foods

This one we will keep simple. After all, how complicated can preparing your own natural foods for your baby be? Babies that are moving from breastfeeding or formula to solids need to begin with either fruit or vegetables. Their first foods are very basic and easy to prepare. All one needs is a good blender or food processor and a bunch of organically grown (preferable) fruits and veggies.

Sweet Potatoes: Bake (or boil) organic yams until done. By baking, you preserve many of the yams natural nutrients. When done, add to food processor with a small portion of breast milk or goat's milk. Goats milk is easier on an infants undeveloped digestive system. If neither is an option and your infants is already acclimated to cow's milk, this may be used as a substitute.

Yams are high in beta carotene, vitamin C, fiber and vitamin B. Parents can also substitute yams for veggies like potatoes, avocados or fruits like bananas.

Natural, organically grown fruits and vegetables are perhaps the best solids your baby can get as they do not contain any of the chemicals or preservatives that you may find in processed and commercial versions of baby foods.
