Aunt Flow and ovulation???

I don't think I ovulated this month...I usually have the discharge, but it just wasn't there this whole month. I know I am going to sound stupid, but I thought once the egg is released then if it wasn't fertilized then Aunt Flow would come. But Aunt Flow is on her way...I can feel her.

Would some one just clarify this for me.

I usually have discharge with ovulation, but not always. I have wondered about that too.

I started thinking maybe I ovulated every other month. I saw discharge I think in June and then in August...could have had it in July, but don't remember it.
