Alyssa's Birth Story

I started feeling slight pains on Sunday (9-25) morning. I thought it was gas! Went to take a nap around noon and started feeling pains a little stronger. Got up and told dh I thought it was time, but I wanted to take a shower first. (dh freaked and wanted to leave for the hospital right away but I got my way and took a shower!) Got to the hospital at 1:20pm. Got put in a room and the nurse did an exam and informed me I was 7cm! The nurse called for the epidural. Got it, but it didn't really have time to take effect because the DR came in, examined me, said he could see the baby, and told me to push! I pushed 8 times and Alyssa was here! She was born at 2:35pm, I made it to the hospital just in time! Labor was QUICK but painful since the epidural didn't have time to take. After the delivery, I felt great. Still do! I had to get 2 stitches because I tore, but I was walking around 2 hours after I delivered!

All in all, I couldn't have ordered an easier labor and delivery!

After all the stress from the past couple weeks.. you deserved a quick and uneventful delivery!

CONGRATS!!!!

I bet she's beautiful!!!!

WOW! that was pretty fast!! I hope my labor is like yours. I was in labor for almost 12 hours.

That is a great story! Poor DH, did he tell you I told you so about the shower thing??? 7 cm?? Good lordie, girl, you could have been having birth on your bath mat!
