I got it at walmart for 18 bucks my husband thought we should give it a try it has unlimited usaged on it and you just spit on it and it tells you if your fertile or not
post #4 of 29
No I haven't used that before. But if I had known about it when I was TTC I would have bought that. $18.00 for unlimited usage...that's great.

Good luck

I bought one and it was useless. Even when I was ovulating with the Clomid it didn't say I was ovulating and I knew I was. But it might work for you.

I used Ovulation Kits (is that what you mean by scope?) And yes, they told me when I was going to ovulate within 48 hours so I knew when to try - and they also were very helpful because some months I didnt ovulate and it helped my dr look into why I may not be and check my cycles.

I may just go ahead and buy the sticks then need to hurry though cause im going to be ovulating in a few days ill give the scope thing a try though just to see if it works
post #8 of 29
That's a good idea

I've never heard of one. When we were trying to conceive (5 years ago) we used an ovulation predictor kit.

Clear Blue Easy

I just received a Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor. I am hoping it works. I kind of makes me laugh though. The mailman brought it to me about 10:30 this morning and I was reading the instructions and things and it said that I could not start using it until the first day of my menstural cycle. Well it kind of bummed me out because with the majority of my cycles it is anyones guess as to when I will start. So I went to the bathroom about 11:15 before I went to lunch and guess what!!! I started!! I am so excited that I can start usuing my new toy!
can you please let me know whay you think of that i was thinking about buying one
post #14 of 29
I will keep you informed. I will tell you one thing when you go to buy one. They are super expensive in the stores. I saw one priced for 275 at the local drug store. So I got on EBAY and there were some on it. I bought it for 102.50 this was a steal in my opinion. The test sticks are 50 so really I am glad I go it for a lot cheaper. I just started using it so we will see how it goes. I will keep you posted!! I am so excited.

I liked the ClearPlan Fertility Monitor. What I found worked really well and was very accurate was charting my basal body temp. It tells you when you ovulated and you can figure out if your luteal phase is long enough to sustain a pregnancy. You also know when and if you need to test. I highly recomend charting to ttc. If you have any questions about it please ask.
i here so much about checking your temp when ttc but what is it you are actually looking for should it rise when you are ovulating?
You need to use a basal body thermometer (bbt). Check at the same time every morning BEFORE you get up. You need at least 4 hours of continuous sleep b/f checking your temp. You will see a distinct rise when you ovulate--no rise=no ovulation. Therefore you will know if you need to test.

Did that answer your question? You need to determine i you are ovulating each month. What has your doctor said about ttc?
My Dr said Ryan and I can start TTC but we have only been trying for 2months it is just hard because my periods arre so irregular I am definatly going to try the temp is it all right if i use a digital thermometer? Thanks for your help
post #19 of 29
I have always heard you needed the basal body kind and yes they are digital. The whole point of temping is that it is very sensitive to temperature spikes and drops. If you are sick then you should disregard the temp for that day. My charts have been very accurate. My specialist was very impressed with them when I showed them to him when we were ttc ds. It gave him tons of info as to if/when I was o'ing and how long my luteal phase is. You need to get charting software to make it even more easy. You just type in your temp for the day and it charts it for you. Email me if you want a link to a charting website or any more information.

I always thought about charting, but I still get up during the night, so I don't get the continuous 4 hours of sleep. I tried checking my mucus, but I can't make anything out of it, so I just Babydance every other day and hope for the best.
I always set my alarm early and got up around 5 am so that I could get the 4 hours. Sometimes it was less but my temps were still consistent. I wasn't a big cm checker but what you are looking for is watery cm that then get more stretchy closer to O. HTH.
I have never heard of one. Is it something new?
Nope, it's not new. I found it fairly easy and not time consuming at all.
Ya Eva I have the same problem 4 hours of continous sleep Never happen. I'm going to try for sex every other day for the whole month since nothing I've tried has worked so far.
Good luck to us. I have no idea when I should ovulate after my misscarriage, but we'll see. I might get this scope, I heard about it before.
<<hugs>> Eva. I also used the Clear plan Fertility Monitor. it's pricey but it's easy to use. You could check ebay for an affordable one.

Yeah the scope works really good for me anyways I got mine at walmart for 18 bucks or there is more expensive ones but the one I got seems to work pretty well
post #28 of 29
ooh Have you gotten the scope to show that you are ovulating? I had heard those didn't work so well. It's nice cause you can use it over and over.

I've tried the cheaper Clear Blue Easy tests, the disposable ones. I think I had my dates wrong though cause I never got a positive the week I used it. So now I'm going to buy 2 packs to make sure I'm counting right

The scope works for me you just have to make sure you do it right I guess no smoking or or eating or drinking anything 2 hours before you do it the best time to do it is in the morning I did it when I thought I was ovulating and it was so cool had all kinds of fern patterens on it
