Advice Needed - The cat's in the cradle...... (really- help!)

So this is weird to me ...

We had 1 cat Stetson when Ryan was a baby, never attempted to go in the crib, and never did. When Ryan moved out of his crib, we left it up in his old baby room, which has stayed the exact same for the last 3 years. Ryan is in his big boy room, the baby room is still the same.

1 1/2 years ago we adopted a new cat, Theisman. The sweetest cat in the world. Just so gentle and loving....

Today I was walking out of my room and I look up and THEISMAN IS IN AIDAN'S CRIB (obviously Aidan isnt here yet- so I really find it odd that he is NOW chosing to sleep in there) ... but Theisman is such a cuddler that I really worry he will try to get in there with the baby when he comes.

I don't know what to do, he has never attempted to go in there before, now - with the baby on the way any day he goes there? Does he sense there is a change coming>? I dont know - its not like all of the sudden there is this new crib, its been there all along.

When I said Theisman NO! he Jumped right out, but what can I do? I will try to search online, but now I am really worried.

My cat did that some too. I think he's getting a little jealous. You may want to shut the door when the baby is in the crib. Wally never got into the crib with Kate. He adores her and sleeps with her most of the time now, but at first he was very jealous.

What we did was to buy a cheap wooden screen door from the hardware store. We mounted it on the outside of the door and close it with a hook and eye type of closure. It kept the cat out, let us hear the baby, and when the kiddos got to walking, they couldn't climb out (baby gates didn't work this well).

That is a great idea!

My friends had the screen door and it worked really well. You can also buy a mesh tent that will keep the cats out of the crib. How is Stetson BTW? I remember him....he was a cutie!

I would put a giant sheet of tin foil in there since Aiden is not home yet. A couple of times of jumping on that ought to fix him of the problem. Cats don't like the noise nor the feel of it.
