Pregnancy induced acne?

Thread Starter
My skin has just been a wreck the past month or so. I've never had problems with acne but my chin and around my mouth is just constantly breaking out.
Anyone else dealing with this and is there anything that helps?

I had that happen with Kyler... but not with Delaney.
Mine cleared up after the first trimester though.

I always had worse acne during pregnancy. I just did the same thing-used products on it and prayed it would leave quickly. Maybe ask your dr if he can prescribe Differen gel for you to use (if it is safe with pregnancy) cuz it is MIRACLE stuff I tell ya!

yeah...do what Krista...ask your dr for a prescription of that gel.

I always had acne. I use products from Acne Treatment Clinic I have been using it since last November. Most of their stuff is only $20.00. I spend around $60.00 - 3 bottles of products - I buy them twice a year.

The other product I have heard good things about is Murad One time I request a catalog and a sample came with it. I used it and could tell a difference over night. The only reason I didn't buy it is because it was like $60.00 every other month.

I had real bad skin with Ryan, like high school skin

But with Aidan I havent broken out at all if I can remember - maybe one here or there - but I cant even remember it so it must not have been too bad

Yep, I do. My forehead and around my temples especially.

With this pregnancy, my whole forehead has broken out, not badly, but enough to annoy me. Temples too. I never get zits and I mean never, not even when I was pregnant with the girls. Just this time. (another one of those little things that make me wonder....hmmmmm boy?)

Re: Pregnancy induced acne?

Using drugs to treat pregnancy acne is a serious concern for most women. Consuming oral drugs can cause side effects and can be potentially dangerous for unborn babies. Nobody wants to risk the health of their child for the sake of eliminating acne. The logical course of action is to use a topical acne treatment preferably one that does not contain any harsh chemical that can be absorbed through the skin.

Re: Pregnancy induced acne?

or not use anything at all as it is caused from hormones and resloves itself.
If it's a real issue, then try something free, like a good natural soap.

Re: Pregnancy induced acne?

My best friends step sister did the same thing for each child she had. I
felt really bad, she wouldn't come out it got so bad
but luckily now that they have their 1 boy and 1 girl,
they're done having kids, so she's gone back to normal

Re: Pregnancy induced acne?

Elaine, how far along are you? Congrats!!!!

You know if you google Belli, they have an acne treatment wash that is supposed to be quite good. I actually just ordered it for myself but I haven't rec'd it yet. Belli makes products especially for pregnant women so no ill effects on baby!

Re: Pregnancy induced acne?

It's caused by the influx of changing hormones needed to prepare your body for child bearing. Your hormones will stabilize at about 3-5 months (it varys for each woman) and your face should clear up again. Be patient!

Re: Pregnancy induced acne?

i did not get any ache or pigmentation any where, but my friend had severe itching and later black pigmentation on her neck when she was pregnant. After the birth of her child the pigmentation reduced by itself.

Re: Pregnancy induced acne?

i have had problems with acne since I was like 11 .. and pregnancy only flared it up and made my face unbearable. I have been using proactiv for a few months now and am actually pimple/zit and acne free (i have the more serious kind) not the kind that druge store face wash would clear up ...
but using a salycic acid or benzoyl peroxide body wash should help if not clear up your body acne.

Acne problem is a general problem during the pregnancy, it is caused by some hormones change and after some months your acne will remove automatically. But you are more serious about it then you can take advise for your doctor.
