Pregnancy after stillbirth

Hi, my name is Mia, and I'm new to these boards. I have a 5 year old son named Anthony Corbin, who was born five days before his due date on 3/13/00.

I am also a mom to my angel baby Elaina Marie, who was born still at 33 weeks on 2/9/05. I went into premature labor one night, and by the time I was hooked up to monitors at the hospital, Elaina's heartbeat was in the 30s. I was immediately put under general anesthesia to undergo an emergency C-section but it was too late to save her. Everything went so quickly - I looked at the clock on the wall when I got into triage and it was 1:40 AM, and she was born at 1:51 AM. She probably passed away en route to the OR. We did not have an autopsy done, but there were several knots in her umbilical cord and it was wrapped twice around her neck. She was beautiful and perfect and looked just like her big brother.

I just found out on Thursday that I am pregnant again. My tentative due date is 6/1/06. I am excited but very nervous about this pregnancy and I know the anxiety will not go away until my baby is in my arms. I miss Elaina so much and I think of her all the time. Part of me thinks that she will be watching over her little brother or sister until they make it safely into the world.

Mia - married to Joe since 7/13/99
Anthony Corbin 3/13/00
^i^ Elaina Marie ^i^ 2/9/05
#3 due 6/1/06 (but will probably come sometime towards the end of May since I will be having a repeat C-section)

I cant imagine how hard this will be for you. I believe that Elaina will watch over you and the baby til s/he arrives safely!

I know there are a few ladies here who have went through that and Im sure they can help you along.

Welcome to the boards!.

Right offhand I can think of 3 of our ladies who've gone through a stillbirth: Hisey, Elaine, and Abby/teacherinct. If you have any questions feel free to ask, and to BabyU!

I can not even imagine how anyone feels who has an angel baby.

There are a few girls on the boards who do have angel babies that I know will be able to help you with their experiences ( we are all here to support you and will be with you throughout everything as well - but they will be especially comforting and helpful).

Congratulations on your pregnancy

Hi and welcome to BabyU.

I'm currently 10 weeks pregnant, 2 1/2 years after the stillbirth of my daughter at 32 weeks. I went through a lot of emotions in the years after the stillbirth and for a while was even certain that I never wanted to be pregnant again. My boyfriend and I are extremely happy to be blessed with this pregnancy (scared sh!tless but extremely happy). It is hard and I know that there will be lots of worry until our baby is safe and in my arms but the ladies here are wonderful and have been a great support and I know you will find the same thing.
